<\/a>A friend of a friend had a garage sale yesterday.<\/p>\n For those of you from sunnier climes unfamiliar with the concept, a garage sale is the British equivalent of a yard sale, only it takes place partially under cover due to the vagaries of the British summer.<\/p>\n The holder of the garage sale is a vintage seller, so I thought there might be cast-offs worth a trek up the hill to cast an eye over.<\/p>\n My friend from Sunshine Vintage<\/a>\u00a0was also selling some of her stuff, and had lured me there with the promise of fabric.<\/p>\n But it turned out she hadn’t brought any, due to the anticipated downpour. I can’t pretend I wasn’t disappointed.<\/p>\n Slightly downcast, I thought “I’ll have a chat and a quick pokey about and be off \u00a0home”.<\/p>\n But then, I found treasure…<\/p>\n <\/a>This lovely battered old toffee tin, with its pleasingly worn patina, will serve a dual purpose, holding treasures on my stall and bits and bobs around the house.<\/p>\n And I managed to fill it with a selection of vintage haberdashery delights…<\/p>\n <\/a><\/a><\/a> <\/a><\/a>After making my purchases and saying my goodbyes, I got three quarters of the way home when\u00a0the heavens opened.<\/p>\n I got soaked.<\/p>\n But my box of delights is more than adequate consolation for a bit of weather.<\/p>\n Especially as there’s now a further opportunity for fabric fondling to look forward to. \u2665<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A friend of a friend had a garage sale yesterday.
