So we are back from Australia.
We arrived back in the UK just as it was getting dark yesterday. As we came in to land, the sky was leaden grey.
We drove back in the dark, to a dark house.
And as I sit here and type, it is still dark outside and everyone is still asleep. It is quiet. I feel… empty.
As though all light and colour has been drained from my world.
As my mum used to say, “this too will pass”.
I hope the darkness lifts soon. ♥

I feel that way when it is rainy and gray for too long.
In the bleak mid-winter…that is what it has been like here in my part of North Carolina. It is like the sun is too tired to put out much effort. Amazing how that affects our moods. But spring will come! Be kind to yourself…:)
I am very lucky to have had a break from the English winter this year. Usually it seems to drag on and on, but this year we also had an Indian summer that extended into autumn, and an autumn that delayed winter’s onset, so I can’t really complain.
