have bag, will travel

The things I do for sales! Last night I set off with a trio of stitchy pictures to contribute an exhibition in a local pub. Today I am setting off on the bus, with the bag of goodies pictured above, destined for a pop-up shop happening … Continue reading

local love

I was asked via email the other day whether my flower shop appliqué was for sale. I explained that my intention was to put it into a renovated vintage frame, which at the moment had no glass or backboard. Once I’d renovated the … Continue reading

what we don’t talk about

As you may already know, I spent this weekend doing a fair. A Winter Market, organised by Bird in Borrowed Feathers. It was a lovely event, held in a great venue. I really enjoyed myself, not least because I was … Continue reading

talking aloud

I mentioned some while ago that I was receiving some business advice.

As well as one-to-one sessions with an advisor, every couple of months I meet up with a group of local artists, photographers and craftspeople for an information, skill sharing and networking session.

Well, yesterday I was the one providing the information. For the first time in years, I gave a talk, something I used to do regularly in one of my previous employments.

The talk was about social media – what it’s for, what can be got out of using it, how to get started. (I’m no expert, but I think they were a bit desperate.)

I was worried beforehand that an hour would be a long, long time to fill. But actually, it flew by.

I do hope that people found it useful. Although, I think I possibly got a bit carried away. I did far more talking than I intended.

Anyway, I was exhausted afterwards, so no sewing got done during the afternoon.

And a large glass of wine was called for in the evening. ♥
