It’s funny how sometimes things spotted on your travels can set you off on a path.
I was going to spend yesterday making more mouse plushies and finishing off hand sewing the last few phone cases of the current batch. But instead, things took a different course.A morning errand took me through a part of town I don’t often visit.
I popped into a couple of favourite shops there and had a lovely browse, during which I spotted some miniature metal and glass frames. And bought a couple.
When I got them home I got all excited about filling them with something tiny and fabric-y and pretty – and all thoughts of mice left my head.
The frames are glass on both sides and obviously meant for just a couple of little photos, inserted back to back.
Anything I put inside therefore had to be small (the entire frames are just five centimetres square), double-sided, and no thicker than card (so no buttons, no multiple layers of thick fabrics, no beads, no fat trimmings).
Sometimes, being hemmed in by restrictions is a good thing.
I love working in miniature, always have. But I’m not satisfied yet. The itch to stitch tiny things remains.
Might have to pop back for a few more frames. ♥
I remember cross-stitching some teeny dolls’ house carpets once ….
lovely idea!
How cute! 🙂
These are so pretty!
