gang of four

modflowers: gang of four: dolls in Sarah Campbell's Sea Holly fabricsSo here they are – my new gang of four.

My doll-a-day plan sort of happened! Although I have to admit, I did spill over into an additional day… but there were reasons for that.

For one thing, I had the last bits of my fifth doll to finish off…

There’s nothing quite like an outdoor stomp to make you feel alive again, is there?

We went along one of Attenborough Nature Reserve’s less-popular paths, near the railway line, getting blown in the wind and talking about dogs, as usual.

modflowers: gang of four: dolls in Sarah Campbell's Sea Holly fabricsLad has unwaveringly wanted a dog for years now. One of his friends has just got one.

Whenever we go out together, lad and I rate every dog we pass, pointing out the particularly nice ones and discussing what kinds of dogs we like best.

There was always a dog at home when I was growing up, and I am not at all averse to the idea of adding one to our family. But we need to sort out fencing our garden and timing around planned holidays, if it is to happen this year.

Anyway, apart from an astonishing display of passive-aggression from a man who seemed to object to our parking next to his car (lots of staring from a distance and then wandering past doing more Very Hard Staring, whilst we laced up our walking boots) our little jaunt was a lovely, and much-needed refresher.

But hey-ho, I am still more-or-less on track.

I now need to try to find someone who is handier than I with wire netting, and doesn’t charge a fortune to install some of it under our gappy privet hedges.

Just in case, sometime in the not-too-distant future, we do decide to go from being a family of three, to a gang of four. ♥

  1. Oh they look awesome Sharon!!!!! So pleased your plan worked out. And while you might have spilled over a bit. I bet you got a heap more done than you would have without your plan. 😀. Ooh doggies, what kind are you favouring at the moment? Xxxxx

    • We are going to get a rescue dog bluestiggy, so it rather depends on which ones are in need of us when we are ready to take one on! I love large dogs, but we dog-sat a large black lab and he totally dominated our house, so we will be looking for something medium-sized, other than that we are very open-minded!

  2. Oh, welcome back, your sewing Mojo! A lovely little gang, and their outfits are delightful; I particularly love the grey patterned one. I’m also deeply envious of your dog-shopping activities. I’d love one, but we are away so often, and most of the time it would be very hard to take our furry child with us…

    • Well, we have sort of the same problem with the dog thing Kate, which is why we haven’t done it so far. My partner wants to go abroad on holidays, which is tricky when you have a dog. But having used a website called Borrow My Doggy to find dogs to borrow, I’m thinking maybe we can also use it to find people to borrow our dog when we need them to!
