hot from heals

modflowers: heals 1810 fabricsI visited Heals for the first time just a few years ago, having won one of their gift vouchers in a competition.

I was looking forward to spending my winnings on textiles. But when I got there, I found there wasn’t much in the way of textiles to buy.

And consequently, I left disappointed.

It has baffled me ever since why, these days Heals doesn’t really seem to do fabrics much any more. Not like it used to, anyway.

Time was, Heals was the leading supplier of home furnishing fabrics.

Back in the day, their designers such as Barbara Brown, Peter Hall, Lucienne Day and Mary White produced amazing fabrics like these…

Heals at last seems to have woken up to the fact that fabrics are still fab and has, not before time, commissioned some new ones!

Admittedly, not all of them are to my taste. Those pictured are my favourites.

Now, where did I put that gift voucher? ♥
