This week I have been giving thanks for the marvel of technology that is the lovely lovely internet.

Firstly, completely out of the blue, I was offered the gorgeous fabric pictured above and below, via my facebook page, by someone I had never met.

How cool – and generous – is that?

The parcel arrived yesterday containing several yards of this pretty stuff, a lightweight synthetic vintage crêpe that will be perfect for dressmaking.

Secondly, I won a competition on twitter!

This sort of thing almost never happens to me, but the aptly-named Awesome Merchandise were offering up a giveaway and somehow they managed to pick my name out of their hat of awesomeness!

The irony of my win is that lad hates it when I use the word “awesome”. (Of course, this means that I say it to him all the time just to watch him squirm) 😉

I haven’t won a hat (more’s the pity – I would donate it to lad). I will show you my prize when it arrives, hopefully next week.

Obviously, the internet is a big part of my life. Sometimes I think I spend too much time on it.

But it just goes to show; every day you can be surprised – and delighted – by the things you sometimes take for granted, can’t you?
