in the pink

modflowers: baby bunting commissionYou may remember that some time ago I took part in a vintage sheet swap, organised by Mary Emmens.

I got some lovely fabrics in my swap. The one slight drawback was the abundance of pinks…

modflowers: pink vintage sheet fabricsNow don’t get me wrong, pink has it’s place. I have a pink flowery frock and matching charity shop cashmere cardi, both of which I wear all the time, so it’s not that I don’t like pink.

But somehow I find candy-pink fabrics of limited use on a daily basis.

And when I do use them, I prefer to pair up the pink with something bright and clashing, like blue, or red, or orange.

Usually…

Unless a commission specifically requests that I go candy-pink crazy…

modflowers: personalised bunting baby giftI have to admit, there’s something very pretty about a whole load of vintage sheets in the same pretty pink colour tones.

I’m also rather pleased with the look of that retro font – I think it stops the whole thing from tipping over into sickly-sweet.

And pink baby bunting does make the ultimate girly new baby gift, doesn’t it?

I’ve still got pink aplenty. ♥
