I have never been a great letter writer.

I would like to be, I have very good intentions in that direction, but however much I intend to write, I don’t seem to get round to it very often.

Nor am I very good at sending birthday cards and presents on the right day.

In fact, generally I would say that I am far better at receiving snail mail than sending it.

But not everyone is like me (thankfully). Yesterday I received the pretty, hand drawn envelope above. Inside was a cheer-me-up present from Rachel at Rainbow Vintage Home…

I’m not sure whether I deserve such a lovely gift. but I am more than thankful to receive it.

Some people just have a knack for saying and doing the right thing at the right time. And a generosity of spirit that makes time for others.

Rachel is one of those people. I am extremely lucky to be on the receiving end of her generosity and her lovely, thoughtful package.

In fact, you could say that when it comes to receiving mail, yesterday I excelled myself. ♥
