I gave myself a night off blogging. To recover from my somewhat disappointing experience on Sunday at Craft in the City (I only sold one thing).

I’m over it now and back in the swing of things.

So I popped into town, for a spot of Christmas shopping. And also to drop a few more items into the Zoo pop-up shop at the Lace Market Gallery whilst I was there.

To be honest, I really wanted to go in for a neb (that’s a nosey, if you’re not local!) at what was on offer and to see how it all looked out on display.

And I can tell you, it looks totally fab.

The gallery is a generous white space with great light. The display tables are made from old doors – which look brilliant!

Dotted about, like beautiful decorations adorning a Christmas tree, are a smattering of really lovely things.

It really made me think about the importance of allowing items sufficient space for them to look their best.

It’s something I’ve been considering about my stall.

And also my living room, which used to look nice, but to my eye these days now looks  a bit crammed.

Anyway, one thing in particular drew me like a moth to a flame…

A rail of vintage clothes. With some rather pretty frocks peeping out…

Somehow, I’m not quite sure how, a couple of them ended up coming home with me…

With a very pretty petticoat, which I’m hoping will help stop my frocks riding up as they stick to my winter tights!

I managed not to buy all the nice things though. I was actually very restrained given what was on offer.

Particularly as I was utterly enchanted by these original antique Nottingham Lace pattern sheets…

A true piece of Nottingham history, they will look amazing framed.

There are even some frocks left on that rail. Despite their being fantastically bargainous.

A girl needs a little something for a trip to the big city, doesn’t she? As the song goes: “hey, little girl, better wear something pretty, something you’d wear to go to the City”.

Less than a week to go – London here we come! I actually can’t wait – squeeeee!

The Zoo pop-up shop at the Lace Market Gallery will be open weekdays until December 19th.

Do pop in if you’re in Nottingham. It’s a bit tucked away, but if you manage a visit you certainly won’t regret it.

Unless, perhaps, you too get more than you bargained for… and bankrupt yourself on lovely things. ♥
