small but perfectly formed

modflowers: vintage fabric lumbar cushionsWhen we bought our sofa, a few years ago now, it came with a couple of funny little rectangular yellow cushions.

I didn’t like the cushions. I wanted the living room to be full of calming shades of blue and grey. Mustard yellow cushions just didn’t fit in.

But I did rather like the shape…

So I thought I would make new covers for them. But of course, I never got round to it.

Those funny little rectangles are called lumbar cushions, I later discovered. They stuck in my mind.

Yesterday, I decided to make some lumbar cushions of my own.

modflowers: vintage fabric lumbar cushionsI didn’t have any cushion pads the right size, so I made my own.

I think they turned out rather nicely.

In fact, I might even make a few more. ♥

  1. They look great!!. I often cut a cushion pad in half and make two from one,so to speak. Great way to frame a particular fabric motif and very comfy for head neck or indeed lumber support. There is an image of some on my latest blog if you fancy a peek…..
