I love mixing up old and new.

Yes, I mainly work with old fabrics, but I love finding new ways to use them and make them contemporary.

And I also love to see other people combining the ancient and the modern, like in these works by Laura McKellar.

Laura’s pieces start life on her computer as collages made from collected images.

These are then digitally printed onto textiles and finished with embroidery.

Her work manages to combine the retro with the exotic, and high-tech with handmade.
