project clean-up

modflowers: vintage tin trunkDespite still feeling tired yesterday, I managed to motivate myself for a clean-up project.

No, not my messy home. That’s scheduled in for after the sewing stops for Christmas.

This particular clean-up project had to be started now, so that I can be sure to have it completed by my thursday deadline.

I bought this trunk on ebay to store coal in. But my plan had a fatal flaw… which was that the only place for it to go was beneath the log box. Which, once  full, became too heavy to be able lift the lid of the trunk.

So, it has just sat, hiding it’s light beneath a bushel, so to speak. Until now.

It’s for a new pop-up Christmas shop at the Lace Market Gallery which opens next week. I’m delivering stock on thursday.

Hence, operation clean-up. Because you can’t put cushions in a dirty trunk. Not if you want to sell any, that is.

Even if it is lined with a Madras Times from 1920… modflowers: vintage tin trunkmodflowers: vintage tin trunkmodflowers: vintage tin trunkThe inside has been hoovered and is now getting a few coats of PVA, to seal it.

I hope it dries by thursday. ♥
