thrifty rewards

charity shop findsI promised yesterday that I would share the other items found whilst on my tea towel quest.

I know it was naughty to buy stuff other than tea towels when that was specifically what I had set out to snag, but when you are confronted by such beauty, what is a girl to do?

Especially when I tell you that my entire haul of eight tea towels, three tablecloths and a tray cloth cost me a whole fiver.

Resistance was utterly useless.

But there is plenty of lovely fabric to go at in-between the turmeric abuse.

And then there is this printed poppet (sorry, I hadn’t yet got the iron out when I took the pictures!)

And last but not least, some lovely hand-embroidered vintage beauties. For which I also have a project in mind (eventually).

They really were too pretty to pass up.

Anyway, I did my resisting in Dorset at the weekend.

With a heavy heart I managed to successfully pass up some very nice items in the newly opened Brewers Quay vintage emporium in Weymouth and in the Rummage shop in Lyme Regis because they were just too expensive.

So my thrifty haul back home felt extra-specially rewarding. ♥

    • Ha ha! You are right! But I can’t possibly buy everything, however hard I try! I missed my usual trek around Sherwood’s charity shops after my sewing class today, as I had an appointment to view lad’s prospective secondary school this afternoon. Most vexing.
