wild cards

winters moon cards 560I got a lovely parcel in the post at the start of the weekend.

It was my order from Winter’s Moon, which arrived quicker than expected.

I spotted these vintage birthday cards, unused stock from the 1970s, a few days ago and just loved the look of them…

winters moon cards originalIt’s a good job they were so well packaged though.

They arrived a little the worse for wear, the result of our usual nice lady postie being on holiday. Whoever is acting as her replacement stuffed them through the letterbox in less-than-gentle fashion.

I had to undertake a little judicious flattening before installing them in a frame (which I repainted white from old orange pine).

But now they are brightening up the mantlepiece in my bedroom no end.

bedroom mantlepiece 4I love the fanciful colours and wild, abstract floral patterns…

  1. Oh I think they look fabulous – I love the colours and warmth. And I love how you’ve displayed them – you are very good at leaving lots of space for things to be properly enjoyed. I’m still working on the clutter – my problem is I love too much!!!

    • I have the same problem. Sometimes I think the only reason I want to move house is so that I have the excuse to get a load of new stuff and display it all over again!
(Not really – but you know what I mean! :))
