artist trading cards – part two

artist trading cards by modflowersSo they are finished!

My Artist Trading Cards are all ready to wave bye bye to when they are entered into the swap this evening.

I was going to show you the finished ten cards yesterday, but as you may have gathered, my blog was misbehaving.

Apparently, the gremlins had been in and “misrendered the html” or something. Anyway, the WordPress “happiness engineers” put some anti-gremlin powder down overnight and it’s all back to normal now.

modflowers: meadowsweet artist trading cardYou may spot that I redid the “meadowsweet” card, as I found I really disliked the grey edging I’d added.

Not only was it untidily sewn, but it totally dominated and detracted from the rest of the design. So I got rid of it.

And these are new…

They’ll each have a label added on the back, showing my name, contact details, date, number and title, before going in the swap.

modflowers: artist trading cardsI figure that whoever gets them can always sew them onto a pocket or bag if they don’t want to keep them as “art”.

But I’m wondering whether miniature textile art is the way forward…

I love to make it, but would anyone buy it, or are they destined to be my secret hobby from now on?

What do you think – and which one do you like best? ♥

  1. What a great idea! They’re all so pretty and colourful, but my absolute favourites are the Daisy Chain and Wild Thyme cards. I can imagine miniature textile art going down well at craft fairs – it’s exactly the sort of thing I would buy, either as a unique gift for friends or family, or to keep and treasure.

  2. I love them! My fave is the Meadowsweet. I love the colors and the embroidery on top is lovely. I lined my mantle with ATCs (others and my own). They’re such a great size and so much bang for your buck. I haven’t seen textile ATCs, though. I bet you could sell them on Etsy. That’s where I got most of mine.

  3. They are all lovely but my favourites are Daisy Chain and Wild Thyme … they would be gorgeous framed and I am certain you would find buyers for little textile artworks like these … Bee xx
