gratitude & apologies

modflowers: gratitude & apologies - vintage liberty fabric parcelI realised yesterday that sometimes I am not very good at gratitude.

I think I take after my Dad, in that I can get just a bit too focused on one thing… which means that as a result, other things pass by unremarked upon, or get forgotten about.

And one of the things I sometimes forget, is to say thank you. I squirm at the thought. It is unforgivable, I know.

That is exactly what happened when this, my latest parcel from Sarah Campbell, arrived the other day.

I was expecting it.

But I wasn’t expecting to be quite so blown away by the contents…

I actually walked around the room sort of gasping and giggling maniacally, muttered “wow!” repeatedly, and then broke into more giggles.

And then I grabbed the dolls I was in the middle of making, and started putting fabrics against dolls, and dolls against fabrics, and giggling some more, and then, somehow, a couple of days had passed in a sort of happy, doll-making frenzy…

There is new batch of lovely Liberty dolls on their way. I’ll show you how far I’ve got with them tomorrow.

In the meantime, let me just say a belated but heartfelt THANK YOU to Sarah Campbell, for sharing her archive of beautiful fabrics with me. As you can see, her designs are just incredible.

And let me add an apology, belated but heartfelt, for not remembering to say thank you sooner. ♥

  1. We’ve all been there, so wrapped up in a major extended gloat that we forget the human being behind the loot. The chief thing is that despite the wildly distracting nature of the absolutely phenomenal cottony goodness in that parcel, you did finally come to your senses and say it!

  2. I think your description of how excited you were when you saw all that awesome fabric makes up for a late thank you! Leaping and dancing pretty much says it all! LOL Can’t wait to see how you use it!
