hatched at last

birdie brooch circle I have another batch of birdie brooches ready to fly!

They have taken a while to hatch.

I have had glue problems. The nasty sticky stuff I use was sticky alright, but then did not set properly. The silly dispenser it comes in must’ve squirted too much resin and not enough hardener into the mix.

So they all had to be cleaned and re-glued. Along with about twenty button brooches destined for my stall at the Pretty Dandy Flea next weekend.

Some bad words were said, I admit. It is very disheartening when things like this happen.

I have a serious dislike for glue.

Give me a needle and thread instead any day.

You know where you are with sewing.

Still, I think the results are worth the pain.

I hope you’ll agree.

I will be adding some of these brooches to my Etsy shop over the coming week, with more the week after, but if you are particularly taken with any of them I am happy to reserve.

The price will be £12, as this batch of brooches will come without a handmade pouch.

I spent so long glueing that I haven’t had time to make any!
