making progress

modflowers: patchwork quilt progressI’m sorry if I’ve been a bit lax with my blogging this week.

It can be difficult to write interesting blog posts when you’re engaged in a big project, as it involves doing the same thing all day for several days.

Namely, sewing white sashing to my vintage tea towel squares to progress my quilt commission.

Sounds boring eh?

modflowers: sewing quilt sashingWell, maybe to read about yes, but not when you’re actually doing it.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy being immersed in repetitive activity. I used to love bagging up lentils when I worked in a wholefood co-operative many years ago for exactly the same reasons.

Listening to the radio all day long, activity punctuated by the occasional cup of tea, with your mind free to wander where it will and something satisfyingly achieved at the end of the day…

I do love it perhaps more than I should.

And I have made progress…

I’ll try not to bore you all with it too much ♥
