stash stories ♥ day thirteen

modflowers: stash storiesAs you read today’s post I will be heading home. All good things must come to an end I suppose, including holidays.

Although there are still a couple more stash stories to share.

Today is day thirteen. Unlucky for some…

stash stories13.3Today’s fabric is a classic Heals design from 1967.

However, now is perhaps the time for me to come clean and hang my head in shame whilst I admit I didn’t know that when I bought it.

I only found out later, after I became friends with Rachel at My Rainbow Vintage Home.

I learned from her that it is called Petrus, was designed by Peter Hall, and is now considered such a classic that there is some of this fabric held in the V&A textile archives.

stash stories13.2I also learned that Rachel had spotted my particular piece of Petrus (which is actually a big pair of beautifully-made curtains) on ebay too, but for some reason (I forget why) she either didn’t bid, or if she did she didn’t win.

And was really annoyed that she missed out. As I said earlier, unlucky for some…

Although she later said she was glad it was me that got them.

She’s nice like that.♥

  1. Ooooh, I still lust after those curtains! I put a massive snipe in on Goofbay and it didn’t work 🙁 But hey, life’s too short to worry too much about the ones that get away – and I am really happy that you won them rather than some random person that I don’t know – partly cause I know you’re lovely, and partly cause maybe one day you’ll cut into them, and I might be able to persuade you to part with a bit! 😉 x
