technology traumas

scrap packsThey say a bad workman blames his tools.

In which case today I must have been a very bad workman indeed.

First, I re-glued some pendant bails that I already did the other day but then fiddled with to test whether they’d stuck – and ended up dislodging them.

I thought it was my fault. But this time I waited until the glue had definitely set and the same thing has happened again. The ones I have re-glued haven’t stuck properly. The glue seems to have gone all brittle.

What a waste of a morning. Again.

I was too frustrated to try re-doing them yet again, so instead I decided to cut more charm squares in readiness for my stall at the weekend.

scrap stackMy rotary cutter kept leaving little threads uncut. It obviously needs a new blade. Teeth were grinding by this point.

Then, I designed some labels for my charm squares. The computer crashed. And then the printer refused to print them.

So I went off and made myself a deliberately low-tech cheese sandwich for lunch, which I ate whilst cursing technology and all it’s works and writing a letter to the glue manufacturer to ask their advice.

Then I tried printing my labels again.

Success!

But at least technology co-operated long enough to let me email my letter. 😉

  1. The squares look gorgeous 🙂 Persevere with the glue search – you will find the right one – this is all part of the creative process, and it will all turn out beautifully. xx

  2. The squares are really neat. I’ll look for them in your Etsy store. Technology is the bane of my existence sometimes. It seems like whenever I try to work from home (so I can sneak in a little crafting during my phone calls) either my Internet is down or the remote access to our server is glitching. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something (like don’t waste time with work when you could be focusing on crafting). 🙂
