going to the zoo

modflowers: zoo christmas shop poster

My sister and I used to sing along to this song in the car when we were small.

Although the version I remember was sung by a very posh English lady.

And it was daddy who was taking us to the zoo, not “momma”, because of course, in those days, ladies didn’t make those kinds of decisions. (And mummy probably didn’t drive.)

Anyway, I am actually going to the Zoo tomorrow. But not the kind with animals.

At least, I hope not, as that might prove a bit chaotic.

Zoo Shop is an annual venture that pops up in the heart of Nottingham’s Lace Market, at New College Nottingham’s city centre Lace Market Gallery.

modflowers pendants in boxes - on sale at Zoo shopIt features local artists and makers, plus a very inviting rail of vintage frocks and shoes.

You may remember I bought a couple last year

modflowers: vintage frocksI’m looking forward to seeing my brooches and pendants and lots of other talented makers’ work displayed in the gorgeous white gallery space.

I feel very honoured to be a part of it.

Tomorrow, there will also be mince pies and a live performance of classic Christmas songs, for a proper festive feel.

Zoo will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 16 December. If you’re in Nottingham, pop by to 25 Stoney Street.

But hands off the frocks.

I have my beady eye on those. ♥
