letting go

modflowers past makesToday marks a bit of a turning point.

As I may have mentioned, I’m very good at putting things off. And there are a couple of things in particular that I have been putting off for rather a long time.

When I last came home from Australia (not this Christmas just gone, nor the one before it, but the year before that) I told myself that it was about time we thought about the future and where we would like to be spending it.

modflowers: dolly cushionWe’ve been in our current home for nine years now. It is, in so many ways, a lovely house. We have made it our own, turning a rotting, draughty, leaky ex-student rental into a warm, pretty, spacious and comfortable place to live.

But we have reached the point where we would like more room to grow things and it is time to look into making that happen, whilst we still have a little money from our parents to help the process along.

So this afternoon a man from the estate agents is coming round to tell me what our house might be worth, which will basically determine whether we can afford the sort of place we want.

Some of the stuff that’s accumulated is stuff I’ve made.

It’s time to let some of it go.

Pop over and have a browse, should you fancy it. ♥

  1. Exciting times… From experience, I think you’ll rediscover all sorts of treasures you’d forgotten about. It’s hard moving from your long term home, but a fresh start can be very liberating. Good luck!
