spontaneous applause

freebie fabrics1Have you ever opened a package and just clapped your hands for joy?

I hadn’t. Once or twice, on the odd occasion, I have danced around the kitchen upon opening up a particularly splendid parcel.

And once I think I even gave a little squeal.

But yesterday morning a package of wonders, from someone I have never met, provoked my first spontaneous round of parcel-induced applause.

Because, well, see for yourself…
freebie fabrics3freebie fabrics6 freebie fabrics5 560 freebie fabrics4freebie fabrics2Isn’t “pflegeleicht” a fabulous word?!

So much more fabulous than “easy to clean”, which is what it translates as (according to google – my woeful language skills meant that I had to look it up.)

The blue fabric below is by Boras… I forgot to take the sellotape to it to remove those bits of fluff before I took the photo, but it is no less lovely for that I think:

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I found my very favourite thing in the whole parcel…

A pinny – yes, but not just any old pinny.

This one has pockets adorned with dalmations

And they’re in vintage cars no less!

And the way he’s standing up there like he’s driving! With his ears blowing back in the wind!!!

My package of wonders came courtesy of Planet Utopia – a brilliant online retro emporium run by Jay Kaye.

Amongst the wonders on sale in her shop is this very tempting tablecloth…

Because even when they aren’t a surprise, stuff like that could probably, no definitely, coax another clapping attack. ♥

  1. Ah I’m so happy you love your parcel, Sometimes I have so many things, some of which are just not perfect enough for the website or Etsy shop, the beautiful pinnie had a hole in it, and I’ve been meaning to do something with it for ages… but it never happens. It just seems that they were going to waste, when someone with loads of enthusiasm and passion could be using them. I’m sure I’ll have more in the future, and i’ll post them your way.

    • I love it! So generous of you. If you would like a cushion cover in return, just let me know… I could make you something to match your colour scheme maybe?

      • Thanks but I’m all cushioned out, its just nice that they will get used at some point. When I have another bundle i’ll let you know. Love your new website and blog its all looking lovely. 🙂
